6月1日下午，由上海市教育委员会、上海高校外国留学生教育研究会主办的第十二届上海高校外国留学生龙舟赛在华东理工大学奉贤校区举行，共有28所上海高校队伍参加比赛。我校已连续12年参赛，本届比赛中斩获第三名，连续5年挺进四强。

我校留学生龙舟队由来自喀麦隆、委内瑞拉、美国、俄罗斯、肯尼亚、西班牙、马达加斯加、蒙古、尼日尔、印度、加拿大、匈牙利、保加利亚、法国、塞内加尔、吉尔吉斯斯坦、波兰17个国家的20余名留学生组成并参加比赛。

比赛中，我校龙舟队以52秒57的优异成绩获得预赛第一名。预赛赛后，队员们积极讨论技巧及战术、一次又一次地喊着比赛节奏、热情高涨、蓄势待发，最终以53秒71的好成绩获得本届龙舟赛的第三名。

为参加本次比赛，我校龙舟队从三月底开始，每周1-2次水上训练、3次体能及技战术训练，卓见成效。从平时训练到比赛结束，我校龙舟队伍保持极高的热情与团队纪律性，体现了我校学生热情洋溢、团结合作的精神风貌。

Afterjoiningtheteamin,Ihavealwaysbeendrivenbyadesiretolearnmoreinordertoevolve.TheeditionwasmyfirstexperienceascaptainoftheteamnicknamedtheWarriors.Weworkedtogetherasoneperson,asonebeingtopreparethefinal.Wehavesurpassedourlimitswhileworkingasateaminharmony,loveandsolidarity.TheDragonBoatisateamsportthatdemandsharmony,andthankstothewillingnessofeveryathleteontheteamwemanagedwell.Inaddition,ourteachershavemadeavailableallthenecessaryequipmentforourtrainingsessionsfromwherewearegratefulandthankthemverymuch.DONGHUAUniversityhasalwaysbeenthereforusandwewillalwaysbethereforittodefenditscolorsbecauseitisourhome,anditisourfamily.IcannotfinishwithoutthankingeveryWarriorathletebecauseitisonemorefamilyinmylife,thankyoualsotoourteachersfortheireffortsbecausetheyhavealwaysbeenthereforus.Donghuauniversityoneday,DonghuaUniversityforever.

For2hoursnearlyeverydayfromMarch1stuntilJune1stIalternatedbetweentoughyet(hopefully)motivatingdrillsergeanttonurturingandencouragingmother...Thiswasnotonlymyfirsttimedoingdragonboat,butitwasalsomyfirstyearcoachingateamtodoitaswell.Iremember10minutesbeforethefirstteaminterestmeeting,Imetwiththeheadcoach,Karl,tolearnenoughaboutthetrainingsothatIcouldconvincinglytelltheprospectivememberswhattoexpect.Icanconfidentlysaythatnoneofusexpectedwhatreallytookplaceoverthose3months:Yes,itwaschallengingbeyondwhatIhadimagined,butitwasalsofarmorerewardingthanIhadhopedaswell.IamimmenselygratefultothestaffandstudentsatDonghuafortheircontinuoussupportandencouragement;ourteamwouldnothavebeenthesamewithoutallofyou...ThroughthisexperienceIlearnedthattheteamname,“Warriors”,isnotonlyaphysicallyfittingdescriptionoftheteambut,mostimportantly,itaccuratelydescribesthedetermined,focus,andunwaveringmindsetthateverymemberoftheteamhadtodevelopaswell.Dragonboatandthe“easypaddle”thereofisinmybloodnow.Somuchsothat“everywherewego...peoplewanttoknow...whoweare...sowetellthem!...”OnceaWarrior,alwaysaWarrior.Ilookforwardtomanymoreyearsahead!
